The rubber chemical additives product line continues to grow as we find new ways of applying our processing technology to today's compounding problems such as dispersing silica into rubber.

DESCRIPTION  

  KSD-01 is the nonmetal type silica dispersing agent. It is available in flake form.  KSD-01 is slightly soluble in water and has limited solubility in alcohols, ketones and aromatic   solvents.

APPLICATION  

  KSD-01 is mainly used as a silica dispersing agent, reducing power consumption and rubber   viscosity

Silica has so many problems when it is mixed with rubber as filler.
 
Silica has a highly active polar surface.
 - Chemical element of silica that constituent surface is mainly silanol structure.
 - Because silanol structure, silica has a highly active polar surface.
 - It caused secondary agglomeration after mixing occurs(reticulation) and increase rubber hardness, power consumtion,
  compound viscosities.
 
Now some kind of silica dispersing agent was developed and it is on the market.
This present silica dispersing agent mainly consisted of Zn and K soap.
 
Present silica dispersing agent
 - Reduces viscosity
 - Gives better scorch safety.
 - Improved flow to make tread extrusion fast and precise with beautiful finish.
 - Reduced power consumption.
 
 
But present silica dispersing agent(Zn, K soap type) not improved physical properties of rubber that mixed with silica.  Also, alkali metal accelerate rubber aging and alkali metal soap not improved silica dispersing degree in rubber.   KSD-01 is not contained alkali metal, improved physical properties of rubber and highly incresed silica dispersing degree in rubber.

Except for physical properties, we measured dispersing degree of silica by analytical instrument, in view of the result so far archived, KSD-01 is more uniform dispersing of silica than control and present silica dispersing agent.
