    Stand Alone Type Indentation System

    R&B has developed this indentation system with SNU( Seoul National University).
    The mechanical work of the indentation test system is calculated the incremental strain and stress values from indentation load and depth data.
    This system determines the yield strength and the stress-strain curves of metallic structure and specimen in a nondestructive. There are two kinds of type Indentation system. One is portable type and the other is stand alone type.
    Especially portable type is very useful for material degradation check in field directly.
    This system measure the gradient in the stress-strain curves of welds and thrill heat-affected-zone including very small welds, such as spot welds.
    Result from the indentation tests are useful in lifetime extension, in structural integrity evaluation and in failure analysis.

     

    Portable Type Indentation System

    This system uses closed-loop controlled motor as a power source. This design is ideal for precision-control with its computer control and data acquisition capabilities and a responsive, precise servomotor.
    Load unit is designed to perform either monotonic or slow cyclic tests without backlash, but it is not limited to those capabilities. This system uses a controller proven for precise closed-loop control of materials tests.
    It also meets another critical need-data acquisition capability that captures every event critical to the test. This system controller is powerful and easy to use.
    It is very simple and letting you interface directly with the test system and the test through the software. A windows user interface and a point-and-click environment help make the control system very easy to use.

     

    Specification
    Indentation system has two kinds of models.
    One is stand alone type and the other is portable type.
    The load capacity is available from several Newton to 50kN.


    Controller and Software

    The controller is the hub between the test system hardware and the operator controls. Real-time functions performed here include high-speed, close-loop control, data acquisition, function generation and transducer conditioning, Controller incorporates distributed processing rather than relying on the personal computer to control the system. The workstation downloads operating code to the controller.
    That makes it easy to add new features. The controller includes the power supply, function generation parts, a data acquisition board (UNIDAS) and other modules that allow high-speed communication with the computer and the sensors. In addition to these modules, these usually include one AC conditioner and one or more DC conditioners for use with stroke, load and strain transducers.
