5MBA Advanced Melt Flow System

MFI is the mass flow rate of a molten polymer at controlled conditions of temperature and pressure, extruded through a very precise orifice. Although not a fundamental property of the material, the MFI is one of the most widely used parameters for the quality control of polymers.

RR2800 : 5MBA Advanced Melt Flow System

Basic manual test procedure. MFI is obtained by measuring the mass extruded over a given time interval.

Conforms to the following International Test Standards :-

ASTM D1238, BS 2782, ISO E1133, UNI 5640-74, UNE 53098, AFNOR TSI-016, ASTM D3364, NPT 51-016, DIN 53735.

5SA Advanced Melt Flow System

RR2900 : 5SA Advanced Melt Flow System

Semi-automatic test procedure. MFI is obtained by automatically measuring the volumetric flow rate and using the density at test temperature to convert to MFI. This procedure conforms to Method B of the ASTM Standard.

Model 2 Test Sample Injection Moulding Apparatus

A simple to use, low cost moulding machine, compact in design for bench mounting, with a very small foot print. A unique cylinder / die extraction system eliminates purging when changing from one color or material to another. Incorporates extremely low cost tooling to produce a very wide variety of polymer test samples. The standard cylinder polymer charge is 57 cm3, but cylinders up to 70 cm3 can be supplied upon request.

Model 2 Motorised Auto Feed Precision Notch System

Designed to machine with a single tooth or multi-tooth cutter, very precise stress concentration notches in test specimens to ensure that breakage of the specimen takes place at the same section each time a test is carried out. mainly intended for use with plastic polymer materials, the variable speed range of the cutter and traverse feed enables the optimum cutting conditions to be established for each different material. The apparatus has a micro height adjustment and notch depth dial gauge to ensure that the notch depth is accurately controlled.
